IPVISIBILITY released its 2017 U.S. Patent Practice Professional Liability and Performance Risks Study. This Study, using Big Data, examines and sets models for scoring patent practices in the U.S. and their professional liability risk potential.
The Study as part of its parameters uses the Patent Practice Benchmark 20 (PPB20™), as a case study metric to measure the performance of patent practices across the U.S. based on the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of their actions before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO.) The PPB20 requires a minimum number of patent agents/attorneys, active portfolio size and payments activity for eligibility.
