2013 is the inaugural year for the event, which includes a wide range of short film screenings, panels, workshops, and exhibits to be held during a three-day festival in mid-April 2013 at the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville.
Founded by the non-profit World Arts Education as part of its global educational outreach, the festival will bring diverse groups of filmmakers of all ages and backgrounds, including those with special needs, to meet and mentor each other and their audiences through this new venue. Created with individuals in New York, Los Angeles and Jacksonville, and supported by a growing network of advisers around the world, the organization is dedicated to a global message of inclusion through the arts and education.
Our signature annual event will be the film festival, which is open to all ages and all abilities, said Karen Sadler, director of the festival, We want it to truly elevate the unique visual voices of film artists and how they see, hear, smell, feel and touch the world.
