Ava Doppelt have been named the recipient of the 2012 Rosemary Barkett Outstanding Achievement Award

The Award is by presented by the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, (FAWL) in honor of Judge Rosemary Barkett who became the first woman Florida Supreme Court Justice when she was appointed by Governor Bob Graham on October 14, 1985. Justice Barkett is the first woman Chief Justice in the history of the Florida Supreme Court. She was also inducted into the Florida Women’s Hall of Fame in 1986. In 1994, President Bill Clinton named her to the U.S. 11th Circuit Court of Appeals where she continues to serve today.

Ms. Doppelt is a Florida Board Certified Intellectual Property Law Attorney. She advises clients on trademark, publishing, entertainment, licensing, franchising, and copyright matters. She manages trademark and copyright portfolios, and has substantial litigation experience in federal and state courts and administrative agencies. Ms. Doppelt speaks frequently on intellectual property, publishing and entertainment law and has served as an expert witness. She serves on the boards of the Orlando Ballet, Florida Lawyers Mutual Insurance Company and The Association to Preserve the Eatonville Community (Zora Neal Hurston Festival).
